In Colorado, vendors with no permanent business location who sell goods at fairs, festivals, swap meets, or markets must use the Colorado Department of Revenue Special Event Sales Tax Application (DR 0589) to obtain a temporary sales tax license before the event.
The fee is typically $8.00 and the application form is available on line at the following link:
Colorado requires the event organizer (Flatirons Chapter AMCA) to provide the Colorado Department of Revenue with a list of sellers participating in the event. The list includes each participating seller's name, address, and Special Event Sales Tax License number, if any.
By registering as a vendor, the vendor acknowledges that the Flatirons Chapter may provide this information to the Colorado Department of Revenue or other governmental authorities as required by law.
Participation in the Flatirons Chapter National Meet does not relieve a vendor of any state or local licensing, tax collection, reporting, or payment obligation.
The Flatirons Chapter of the Antique Motorcycle Club of America does not provide tax or legal advice and assumes no responsibility for a vendor's failure to obtain required licenses, collect the correct amount of tax, file required returns, or remit taxes when due. Vendors should consult the Colorado Department of Revenue, applicable local taxing authorities, or their tax professional regarding their individual obligations.
